One day I will write a book called THINGS TAYDEN SAYS:
Broccoli and Mac & Cheese shouldn't really count as dinner, but it was late and it was all I could come up with. As the kids are eating I notice that Tate has nibbled the very tops off the broccoli and left the rest. I informed him that he needed to eat all of the broccoli.
With upturned nose and a condescending ring in his voice he said, "You know all the vitamins are in the tops."
"The whole broccoli is good for you and you have to eat all of it before you can be done." I replied with a little condescension of my own.
The debate went back and forth for a minute before Tate finally said, "Mom, I'm a scientist! I study this stuff."
I barely stifled a laugh. I answered, "Alright then what kind of vitamins are in broccoli?"
With all the confidence of a PhD he said, "Green ones."
Hmmm...he's good. But when I countered with the fact that even the stems are green and therefore contain "green" vitamins. Which as we all know are vital to the growth of 6 year old know-it-alls, he finally gave up and ate the rest of his broccoli.
