Catching up

I have seriously neglected my blog.  We had a great christmas.  Tate and Allie must have been very good because Santa brought Tate a Nintendo DSi and Allie got a Leapster2.  Miah even got a leapfrog dog named Violet.  We are excited for the new year!  So far 2011 has been great.
Alex is recovering from his knee surgery very well and is walking around.  Not running marathons yet, but he's well on his way.

Tate is loving school and has started piano lessons.  He is learning to love practicing piano :)

Allie is now a Sunbeam and absolutely loves it!  We are still working on getting her back into dance.

Miah is 9 1/2 months old.  At her 9 month doctors appointment last week she was 18.8 lbs (40%) which is a drastic different from the 70-80% she'd been in, but that's probably because I stopped nursing a couple weeks ago and we had a rough week trying to find a formula that she liked.  But her height is still in the 80%.  She is walking across furniture and crawls everywhere and is into everything!

I have stayed busy with taking care of everyone and even though I feel like I've been super busy I really can't think of anything specific that I've done.

Anyway I'm excited for this year.  Alex has started working with a new realtor brokrage doing high end homes in addition to starting a leasing company.  He's continuing to sell life insurance and debt management solutions as well as web design for an up and coming environmental energy company called Global Green Star.  (now he is busy, but surprisingly still has time to be home quite a bit) We are so grateful for all his hard work and for the wonderful future he's building for our family.  I might be hired with Alex's real estate company which he's partners in to be a transaction coordinator as a part time job.

So that's what's been happening with us.  Exciting stuff.  you know it's funny.  For the past few years I've had this misconception of life...that it's complicated.  Over Christmas and as we've welcomed in the new year Alex and I have really stepped back and reassessed.  Life should not be complicated.  It's the basics, the simple things like family home evenings and watching a sunset, dating your husband, taking time for a good book or dancing in the living room with your kids.  In other words according to President Uchdorf it's the relationships with Heavenly Father, family, our fellowman, and ourselves. You are so right, Melissa! It is all about the little things. :-) Glad to hear that all is well.
