The kids watch Kung fu Panda just about every day so if you don't have the entire movie memorized that's what that quote is from!
We have some big decisions to make and I'm sick of making big decisions. So about a month or so a ago everything kind of hit rock bottom financially and we decided that Alex would take a position as a salesmen for a home alarm system company which would move us to Cincinnati, Oh for 4 months (May through August). My sister, Amanda and her husband are going too, so we were all planning together and trying to get stuff ready to go. We were getting really excited for an adventure, change of pace, and some of the green stuff!
Then the car battery died and we had to replace it, then the front axle started going out and needs some serious repair as well as the windshield which is broken. Suddenly the realization that we were not only going to have to pay for all the repairs to get our car ready for a trip across the country, but we don't want to lose our place here so we would have to continue paying rent here as well as in Cincinnati. aaahh! The silver lining is that we can make good money by doing this.
But then, Alex got a call from an old friend and investor who asked him if he'd like to use his real estate license to manage his properties. The following day he got some calls and some possible listings on homes and suddenly the day trading he's been doing came back to life with some new accounts and investors.
Either choice is a gamble because it's all commissions. Plus, I don't want my Amanda to go to Cincinnati and be all by her self with her 2 month old baby while her husband works for 4 months straight. Well she won't be all alone. They are going with a group and it's mostly couples and some kids.
Don't you wish you could see into the future and see the result of each choice so then you'd know which one would be best. We've prayed about it, obviously, but it's still not clear. Since we can't really decide yet we've taken the approach that we are just going to take it one day at a time and the answer will get more certain. So to quote the "Kung Fu" turtle:
"The past is history. The future is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why they call it the present!"

My kids have Kung Fu Panda memorized! In fact, Tayden and Mason were both asking to watch it over here this morning!
I sure wish there weren't so many tough decisions to make all the time! But, I'm sure that you will know what is right when the time comes.
Hey, I came across your blog through Erin's. Anyway, this is a hard time for young families. I feel like we are just waiting for certain answers from fire academies and I feel like we are in limbo. Wouldn't it be great if money juswt grew on trees? Its hard, but it will get better!
Hello!!!!!!!!! Your family is sooooooooooo beautiful! It's so fun to see what you have been up to. Please, keep in touch :)
That just brought tears to my eyes... I feel the same way. If only we could see the future... I guess we just have to pray and pray and pray some more- then do what feels right. Life is so crazy right now, I hope it all works out for you guys!
